MARRIAGE LICENSE
When applying for a marriage license, at least one party must appear in person; and he/she must have all the necessary information and documents.
Age Requirements:
18 years or older, parental consent is not required
Between 16-18 years of age, signatures of both parents are required
Under 16 years of age, a court order is required
$27.00 – cash, check or money order to the Vermilion Parish Clerk of Court.
- Certified copy of birth certificates from both parties.
- If either party is divorced, he/she must present a certified copy of the final divorce decree.
- If either party is widowed, he/she must present a certified copy of a death certificate.
- A medical certificate is not required.
- If either party was born outside the United States, he/she must present a valid passport or naturalization certificate or residency card (green card).
Marriage licenses must be applied for not later than 72 hours prior to the ceremony. Marriage licenses expire 30 days from the date of issue. The fee is non-refundable.
